The LSU Tigers just signed a top-five recruiting class during the early signing period, with potentially more impact players added to the class ahead of national signing day in February.
Now, the Tigers are working to add another top-five class for the 2022 recruiting cycle. According to 247Sports, the Tigers currently have the No. 2 class for 2022, with seven prospects currently committed.
Could the Tigers soon land an elite five-star linebacker?
Harold Perkins, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound outside linebacker from Cy Park High School in Cypress, Texas, recently spoke with Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports and said LSU is one of the schools that is recruiting him the hardest.

“LSU, Oklahoma, Florida and A&M,” Perkins said about the schools that are standing out the most to him right now.
Perkins is the No. 20 overall player in the 2022 class, and the No. 1 outside linebacker, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
What draws Perkins to LSU?
“The coaches and knowing the history of people that go there,” Perkins said.
Another positive for the Tigers in this race is LSU is the only school in which Perkins has visited.
Perkins hasn’t announced a timeline for his decision.
