The Nuggets (-375) will cost you nearly four times your potential return, and that’s a risky proposition in any game, let alone the very first game of the season. AVOID.
Against the spread (ATS)
The way to go is to back the KINGS +8.5 (-110) on the road in this opener. The Nuggets beat the Kings in two of their three head-to-head meetings in the 2019-20 regular season, but they were 1-2 ATS, with one of the games Denver won decided in overtime. These teams are a lot more evenly matched than the books are expecting. Look for Sacto to keep it close.
Over/Under (O/U)
OVER 225.5 (-110) is the play, even though last season we saw Denver start out a big sluggish on offense. In the last game between these teams (Dec. 29, 2019), Denver pushed past Sacramento 120-115, and we can expect another similarly tight, high-scoring game. The Over is 5-2 in the past seven meetings in this series, with a 4-0 mark in the past four battles in the Mile High City.
