Nets raise banner to honor NYC frontline workers

The Nets thanked frontline workers in New York City by raising a banner in their honor on opening night.

Before the Brooklyn Nets opened the 2020-21 NBA season on Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors, the team paid tribute to the frontline workers who have been essential in keeping New York City running during the coronavirus pandemic.

Prior to the game, the Nets raised a banner saluting NYC frontline workers, and the banner will remain throughout the season. Nets star Spencer Dinwiddie thanked a small group of frontline workers who were invited by the Nets to see the opening game.

“Obviously 2020 has been a very trying year for pretty much everybody. We’re excited to get the season started, and without the work you guys do every day and will continue to do throughout this year and next year, it wouldn’t be possible.”
