Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes finishes atop Pro Bowl fan voting

At least three Chiefs players already appear to be going to the Pro Bowl, watch the roster reveal tonight.

Fan voting for the 2021 Pro Bowl concluded on Thursday, December 17.

Throughout the entire voting process, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes held the top spot by a significant margin. With the final tally of votes in, Mahomes has the most among any NFL player with 342,353 votes. That’s over 7,000 more votes than Seattle Seahawks QB Russel Wilson, who finished in second place with 335,156 votes.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce also remained in the top 5 in Pro Bowl fan voting with the fourth-most votes among all players. He received 309,710 votes, about 5,300 or so shy of Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry who came in third. One other Chiefs player remains at the top of the voting at his respective position. Chris Jones leads all AFC defensive tackles with 167,510 votes from fans.

The results of the fan voting would suggest that Mahomes, Kelce and Jones will each be named to the 2021 Pro Bowl. It’ll be the third consecutive Pro Bowl selection for Mahomes, the sixth consecutive Pro Bowl selection for Kelce and the second consecutive selection for Jones. Obviously, they have their eyes set on a Super Bowl repeat and not the Pro Bowl, but these are important for how players are viewed and measured historically.

Now that the fan vote has concluded the NFL must collect votes from the coaches and players. Pro Bowl rosters will be decided by a consensus of the votes from fans, players and coaches. You can watch the 2021 Pro Bowl rosters reveal show live tonight on a special edition of NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access” at 7:00 PM ET.
