UPDATE: Akers returned to the game with 3:55 left in the second quarter.
As if things weren’t already going poorly for the Rams against the Jets, trailing 13-0, they also suffered an injury at running back. Rookie Cam Akers walked off the field gingerly in the first half and was looked at by trainers before heading to the locker room.
He had his ankle taped up by the medical staff after it appeared he got rolled up on by a pile of players on a 1-yard run. Darrell Henderson replaced him in the backfield.
