The Badgers got off to a quick start and never looked back in a 85-48 win over Louisville. It was a similar story to Tuesday’s win over Loyola-Chicago, with Wisconsin shooting the lights out on Saturday morning. UW went 16-25 (64%) from three with three different players hitting three threes.
The first ten minutes were a clinic of zone offense from No. 12 Wisconsin, man-to-man lockdown defense, and sharing the basketball. With No. 23 Louisville short-handed missing their star grad transfer Carlik Jones and not having played in almost three weeks, Chris Mack’s Cardinals were not ready for the Badgers’ intensity early.
After nearly eleven minutes, Wisconsin led 25-4 and their lead was never less than 19 for the rest of the contest. The 16-25 number from three was no lucky accident. Greg Gard’s team shared the basketball, got fantastic looks late in possessions, and sparked their offense with excellent half court defense and rebounding.
Also, the new alternate jerseys went 1-0:

Micah Potter led the way with 20 points on 7-13 from the field. D’Mitrik Trice and Trevor Anderson combined to go 6-6 from three to lead the guards. It was another impressive outing for true freshman Johnny Davis who was active on the glass with six rebounds, and went 3-4 from the field to finish with 7 points. This was the definition of a team win for Wisconsin basketball, who improved to 6-1.
