ESPN’s College GameDay crew makes their picks for SEC Championship

Alabama and Florida will be facing off tonight for the 2020 SEC Championship. The ESPN College GameDay crew made their picks for the contest

The ESPN College Gameday crew have highlighted all the top stories and upcoming games for today, which include a handful of conference championships and contests that will impact the landscape for the College Football Playoff.

Some games carry a lot of weight heading into the final College Football Playoff rankings, such as the ACC Championship that features the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in Notre Dame and Clemson, respectively.

Other games, such as No. 4 Ohio State and unranked Northwestern, don’t have as much on the line, unless the unexpected happens and Northwestern has one of the biggest upsets of the season.

No. 1 Alabama should enter the 2020 SEC Championship game confident they are in the playoffs with a win or a loss against No. 7 Florida. However, Nick Saban would never let his team go into any game with such a mentality.

The crew offered high praise for Mac Jones and Devonta Smith, while also recognizing the playing abilities of Florida quarterback, Kyle Trask.

Despite such nice things said about the Gators, the crew picked the Crimson Tide to win. However, guest picker, Joel McHale, picked the Florida Gators just to switch things up.
