Carl Davis returns to practice as Patriots gear up for Dolphins

Defensive tackle Carl Davis returned to practice on Thursday.

As the Patriots get set to take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, another player has returned to practice. After Julian Edelman and Shilique Calhoun returned on Wednesday, defensive tackle Carl Davis returned on Thursday.

Davis was placed on injured reserve November 28 with a concussion. It is not clear if he will play against the Dolphins, but his return does add more depth to the defensive line.

Davis was signed by the Patriots on October 14 off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad.

As the season begins to come to a close, the Patriots look to play the role of spoilers for the Dolphins playoff hopes. In what has been a difficult season, a victory on Sunday would go a long way in boosting morale.
