Marcus Mariota throws 1st TD with Raiders, Titans players are loving it

Marcus Mariota looked very good on his first drive with the Raiders.

There was more than just one team interested in watching Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Marcus Mariota’s first appearance of the 2020 campaign during the Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Tennessee Titans players were rooting their former teammate on when he took the field for his first drive of the season after starter Derek Carr had suffered an injury.

And Mariota made quite the first impression with his new team, as the former No. 2 overall pick promptly drove the Raiders down the field for a scoring drive that was capped off by a 35-yard touchdown pass to tight end Darren Waller.

In case you missed the play, here’s a look:

That wasn’t the only great play on the drive. We also saw Mariota throw across his body on the run for one completion, and then take a carry for 11 yards that saw him fighting off tacklers to pick up extra yardage.

One thing was very clear after the drive: Titans players were happy for their former teammate.

For Mariota, that’s his first touchdown since Week 4 of the 2019 campaign against the Atlanta Falcons.

Carr’s injury didn’t look too good but he’s still questionable to return to the game. For now, it’s Mariota time.
