A surprise report came out on Thursday afternoon that Washington safety Deshazor Everett underwent surgery on Thursday morning to deal with a chest injury that was suffered in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
The report comes from The Athletic’s Ben Standig, who says that Everett is expected to go on the injured reserve now.
We don’t know the extent of the injury or the surgery, but by the sounds of it you would have to believe that Everett could miss the rest of the season in Washington, leaving safety Jeremy Reaves to step up in his place. Since stepping up at the S position earlier this year in Washington, Everett has been a big part of the defense, bringing his physical playing style each and every game.
