Jets injury report: Impending FA Jordan Jenkins likely needs shoulder surgery

Even though he’s the longest-tenured player on the team, Jordan Jenkins has likely played his last down as a New York Jet.
Jenkins will enter free agency for the second season in a row. He returned to the Jets on a team-friendly deal after his market never materialized.
Now that he’s set to test free agency again, there’s a “really good possibility” Jenkins needs surgery on his shoulder, Adam Gase said, per ESPN’s Rich Cimini.
Rookie running back La’Mical Perine (ankle) will practice Thursday, but will probably not be ready to play in Week 15. The Jets are targeting Week 16 as a more realistic return date.
At kicker, Sam Ficken is progressing well from a groin injury and his status is trending upwards for Sunday’s contest.
If Ficken can’t go, Chase McLaughlin, who was recently claimed off waivers from Jacksonville, would get the starting nod
