Wednesday marks the beginning of the early signing period and thus many college football recruits can now officially sign on the dotted line with their school.
Oklahoma has had many of their previously committed recruits sign throughout the day, but they are also waiting on the commitment announcement of several others in the coming days.
One guy the Sooners were hoping to land today is four-star offensive tackle Savion Byrd out of Duncanville, Texas. Lincoln Riley and staff got their guy, as Byrd announced his commitment to Oklahoma this morning throwing up the ‘Horns Down’ in the process.

SMU and LSU were also considered.

Byrd had also received offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, LSU, SMU and Texas. But he has elected to come to Norman to learn under Sooners offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh.
This is a big land for Oklahoma and he has already started to win Sooners fans over with his post-announcement celebration.
