The early signing period for college football is here.

Oklahoma has had an interesting run in 2021 at some of the best prospects in the entire class. The Sooners hit on No. 1 quarterback Caleb Williams and have since been building up to the final couple weeks.

Lincoln Riley had seven prospects he was attempting to close to finish the 2021 recruiting class. Three-star offensive lineman Remington Strickland chose Texas A&M and the No. 1 wide receiver, Emeka Egbuka, chose Ohio State. Oklahoma still has five more out there, starting with four-star offensive tackle Savion Byrd on Wednesday.

The Sooners have 15 commitments so far in the 2021 recruiting class, led by Caleb Williams and five-star wide receiver Mario Williams. Oklahoma’s 15 commitments are the least amount of commitments among teams in Rivals’ top-25.

Ten of those commitments are either four or five-star prospects, with the Sooners spreading their recruiting pipeline to the east coast a little for 2021. Oklahoma has five commitments from the state of Texas, two from Oklahoma, then the rest hail from the states of Iowa, Florida, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia and Washington D.C.

Though many announcements will be coming today, the Sooners will be awaiting decisions from five-star prospects Bryce Foster, Camar Wheaton and Tristan Leigh over the next couple days and weeks. Oklahoma can climb into the top-10 of the recruiting rankings with the right breaks.
