Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin couldn’t help but get in a laugh — admittedly a mean-spirited one — as one of his rival’s players got embarrassed.
Mississippi State cornerback Martin Emerson matched up against Auburn receiver Seth Williams on Saturday, and it seemed Emerson had a lot to say to Williams in between plays in the fourth quarter. Not only was Mississippi State losing at the time, but the Bulldogs let up a touchdown on the following play. And I bet you can guess who scored. Williams toasted Emerson on a fade route for a huge touchdown. Auburn (6-4) won, 24-10, over Mississippi State (2-7).
It’s one of those cringey moments where you don’t want to root for a young man to experience such an embarrassing moment — unless, of course, you’re Lane Kiffin. Here’s a look at the play and Kiffin’s response.
