BREAKING: Star tight end Kyle Pitts unavailable against LSU

Florida Gators football took a hit Saturday night before kick off against LSU when it was announced that star TE Kyle Pitts was scratched.

Ahead of kick off between the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Saturday night, it was announced that star tight end Kyle Pitts is scratched from tonight’s game due to a lingering injury sustained last week.

Gators star TE Kyle Pitts won’t play tonight vs LSU. He was scratched because of a lingering injury from last week’s game

It is unclear exactly what injury he sustained last week but it is possible that it was an exacerbation of the symptoms he dealt with after being knocked out of the game against the Georgia Bulldogs with a head injury. That hit, which resulted in a concussion, came as the result of a play that drew a targeting penalty from the referees.

Gators redshirt senior quarterback Kyle Trask will be without his top pass-catcher but will still have many weapons at his disposal including the elusive Kadarius Toney.
