Kevin Byard named Titans’ nominee for Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award

Byard has been a model teammate and citizen since joining the Titans in 2016.

Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard is being recognized for his contributions both on and off the field, as he was named the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

According to NFL.com, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award “recognizes an NFL player for his excellence on and off the field.”

“We have a lot of guys on our team that do great in the community, so to represent the team, it means a lot to me,” Byard said, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. “I don’t do what I do to win awards, I do it to make a difference and to impact my community the best I can. So, it’s an honor, and I am humbled.

“I always say it’s a blessing to be a blessing, and it really is.”

Byard, who is currently in his fifth year with the Titans after the team drafted him in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft, has been a model teammate and citizen since coming to Nashville. His contributions have been invaluable to the community in which he plays.
