Bills QB Josh Allen wins 3rd AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor

QB Josh Allen wins Offensive Player of the Week for third time in 2020 season.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen completed the hat trick and the game isn’t even close to over yet.

With four games still remaining on the Bills’ 2020 docket, Allen already nabbed his third AFC Offensive Player of the Week Award for his efforts against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13.

Allen previously won the honor in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks and Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins this year.

Against the Niners (5-7) on Monday Night Football, Allen was 32-for-40 passing for 375 passing yards and four touchdowns. Allen became the first Bills quarterback in team history to attempt at least 40 passes and complete 80 percent of them.

In grabbing his third AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, the Bills (9-3) QB still has a realistic chance to add another one of those to his trophy case. A betting man would be a dollar on Week 17 being the time.

In Buffalo’s season finale, they’ll host the Miami Dolphins. Assuming Allen and the starters do play that game, Allen in his career has shown he really doesn’t like them. Of his five career AFC Offensive Player of the Week Awards he’s won, three have come against the Dolphins.
