Coming off the 43-6 beating the Raiders took in Atlanta, no one was really sure what to expect from them heading to New York to face the 0-11 Jets. The result was not good news.

On the Jets’ first drive, they went for a touchdown, with QB Sam Darnold throwing his first touchdown pass since week three. Early in the third quarter, Darnold threw his second touchdown pass to take a 13-7 lead.

From there the Jets began Jetsing, turning the ball over on three consecutive drives. Though before the turnovers, they were able to move the ball on the Raiders’ porous defense.

A 24-13 third quarter lead seems like it would be comfortable against a team as hapless as the Jets, but come the fourth quarter, the Raiders reclaimed their title as the cure for what ails your struggling offense. First they scored on a 96-yard drive, then forced a turnover of their own and drove for another touchdown to take a 28-24 lead.

They still had that lead when they punted the ball to the Raiders with 35 seconds left in the game. Only through either sheer stupidity or design were the Raiders able to win the game with seven seconds left on a long ball from Derek Carr to Henry Ruggs III.
