As the 2020-21 NBA season continues to inch a bit closer every day, it is time to begin putting together the top player’s list. It is the time of year where everybody tries to compile a list of players to watch in the upcoming season.
ESPN has put together their Top 100 Player’s in the NBA list and so far, two members of the Philadelphia 76ers have appeared on the list.
The first one to pop up was Seth Curry who comes in ranked 91st in the league:
Curry should slot into the starting shooting guard spot for Philadelphia, playing next to Danny Green and Ben Simmons on the wings. But as the clear weak link in that starting five defensively, will Curry be able to hang tough enough at that end to stay on the court for long stretches? The Sixers need him out there to keep the floor spaced for Simmons, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid.
Curry comes to a Sixers team in dire need of somebody to space the floor and that is exactly what he can do on a regular basis. He shot 45.2% from deep with the Dallas Mavericks and he is expected to flourish playing next to Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.
The next Sixer to show up on the list is Tobias Harris who comes in ranked 57:
Philadelphia re-signed Harris in 2019 to be its third star. Harris is now back at his best position (power forward), with the coach who got his best play out of him when he was with the Clippers, and on a team where he should have plenty of room to operate. Can Harris take advantage and be the player the Sixers need him to be?
Harris had an up and down season in the 2019-20 year, but a move back to his natural spot, plus less pressure as being the only real shooter in the starting lineup, plus playing under Doc Rivers should help him. The Sixers could definitely use a better season from Harris when the season begins. [lawrence-related id=40013,40004,40000]
