Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens fans alike are going to be highly disappointed with this news. According to his own personal Twitter account, WR Dez Bryant will not play in the Week 13 game on Tuesday night due to a positive COVID-19 test pregame. Bryant has been ramping up his participation in the Ravens offense and was set to battle his former team of eight seasons.

Bryant, the Cowboys all-time leader in touchdown receptions, was out of the league for more than two seasons before being signed to the Ravens practice squad earlier in the year.  The buildup to the week has included several discussions about his time with Dallas and the possibility he might once again throw up his patented X celebration if he were to make it to the end zone.

According to Jay Glazer, Bryant had an inconclusive test in the morning, and was pulled from warmups to be tested again. This game is being played on a Tuesday night because the Ravens had a rampant outbreak of COVID that caused their Thanksgiving night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers to be postponed three times before it was finally played last Wednesday.

Bryant avoided that spread, which included quarterback Lamar Jackson and both running backs Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins.

In a subsequent tweet, Bryant indicates he’s going to stop playing for the season. Hopefully this is his emotions talking for him, as the upset at not being able to play in this game against his former team has to be monumental.

Glazer came back for a later segment, in which he relayed the league said they did contact tracing from yesterday and deemed nobody Bryant came into contact with was in danger. This despite film of him on the field pregame.
