Colts move up one spot in NFL power rankings

Colts move to No. 7.

The Indianapolis Colts (8-4) came away with a big win against the Houston Texans (4-8) on Sunday at NRG Stadium, moving up a spot in the division and in the power rankings.

After their 26-20 win on the road, the Colts find themselves in the wild-card race and the race for the AFC South with four games remaining.

In Touchdown Wire’s power rankings following the Week 13 games, the Colts moved up one spot to No. 7 overall.

With the Tennessee loss, the Colts and Titans are now sitting atop the AFC South with matching 8-4 records. With the division coming down to the final four weeks it makes sense to look at upcoming opponents. While the Titans get Jacksonville, Detroit, Green Bay and Houston over the final four weeks, the Colts see the Raiders, the Texans, the Steelers and the Jaguars. Slight advantage to the Titans perhaps? Perhaps?

The Colts do have winnable games the rest of the way. The biggest challenge will be visiting the Steelers in Week 16, but they just lost to the Washington Football Team so it can absolutely be done.

The Colts will be on the road again taking on the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14. They just snaked a win from the New York Jets on the final play of the game. This matchup will have plenty of playoff implications with four games remaining.
