The New Orleans Saints (10-2) visit the Philadelphia Eagles (3-8-1) Sunday of Week 14 for a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Here’s a look at the early Saints-Eagles betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.
The Saints, who became the first team to clinch a playoff berth, ran their win streak to 9 with a 21-16 victory (as 2.5-point favorites) at the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13. QB Taysom Hill, making his third consecutive start in place of injured Drew Brees, completed 27 of 37 pass attempts for 232 yards and the first 2 touchdown passes of his career. He added 83 rushing yards on 14 carries, while RB Alvin Kamara rushed for a game-high 88 yards with a TD on 15 carries. Ahead 21-16 with 1:49 to go, the New Orleans defense came up big when Atlanta faced 2nd-and-2 at the Saints’ 13-yard line. It stopped the Falcons for no gain on second down, a 7-yard loss on third down and an incomplete pass into the end zone on fourth down. Earlier in the final quarter, the Saints defense did allow its first touchdown in 14 quarters.
The Eagles lost at the Green Bay Packers 30-16 Sunday as 8.5-point underdogs. Trailing 20-3 midway in the third quarter, the Eagles pulled QB Carson Wentz (6 of 15, 79 passing yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs) for rookie Jalen Hurts. On Philly’s second possession after the switch, the second-round pick out of Alabama steered a 73-yard, nine-play drive, capped by a 32-yard TD pass to WR Greg Ward on fourth-and-18 with 7:52 to go. When WR/PR Jalen Reagor returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown, the Eagles trailed 23-16 with 6:30 remaining. The two teams traded punts before Packers RB Aaron Jones put the game away with a 77-yard TD scamper at the 2:36 mark. Hurts, who threw an interception with 49 seconds left, finished 5 of 12 for 109 passing yards with 1 TD and 1 pick, while rushing for 29 yards on 5 carries. “Who starts at QB?” will likely be the big news in the City of Brotherly Love this week. Also, worth watching will be the injury status of CB Darius Slay, who exited with a knee injury in the second half.
