It has been a long time between touchdown throws for New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold.
Entering Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the former No. 3 overall pick from USC had not thrown a strike to the end zone since Sept. 27 when he found Braxton Berrios for the Jets’ only score in a 36-7 loss to Indianapolis.
Darnold broke out against the Las Vegas Raiders on Gang Green’s first drive, which lasted almost six minutes and went 74 yards on 12 plays.
The score came when Darnold found Jamison Crowder, who made it into the end zone — barely — to give the winless Jets a 7-0 lead after the PAT.
