Saturday saw No. 2 Notre Dame roll to a 45-21 win over Syracuse and as a result, Ian Book became the winningest quarterback in program history.
Book had a great game, throwing for three touchdowns and rushing for two more as he broke his tie with Tom Clements, Ron Powlus, and Brady Quinn who all recorded 29 wins as starting quarterbacks at Notre Dame.
Now there is a lot more to winning than simply a quarterback, but you don’t win 29 games, heck, you don’t start 29 games at Notre Dame if you’re not a really solid player, to begin with.
After Notre Dame finished the job against Syracuse, Quinn was quick to offer his congratulations to the current Fighting Irish signal-caller.
"Congratulations to Ian, it's been incredible to watch him grow… he deserves all the credit in the world." @Brady_Quinn congratulates @Ian_Book12 on becoming @NDFootball's winningest QB in school history ☘️👏 pic.twitter.com/waEOQKtVtB

Book also made an appearance on TV Saturday night as he was interviewed by the ABC crew during No. 3 Clemson’s win at Virginia Tech as the Irish and Tigers will rematch in the ACC Championship Game two weeks from today.
