WATCH: How the departure of Gordon Hayward can help Jaylen Brown

Jaylen Brown could see his usage transformed into a much bigger role with his team this season.

It’s never a good thing to lose a top-50 player from your team.

But, if there’ a silver lining to the exit of veteran forward Gordon Hayward leaving the Celtics in free agency to join the Charlotte Hornets this offseason, it’s that it will create more opportunities for Boston’s young wing duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The latter forward in particular may see his usage not only increased but transformed into a role that much better reflects his unlocked skills he picked up over the course of the 2019-20 season previously occupied by the Butler product before he pulled up stakes and decamped.

Our friends at The Playgrounder put together a clip of how the Cal-Berkeley product may be used in unexpected ways compared to prior seasons, and how in turn that might change the team and Brown’s potential usage on it.

Take a few to check out how the Georgia native could be deployed alongside Tatum and the rest of the Celtics in 2020-21; we’re just a little over a week from seeing the team back on the court for real.
