Things got a little bit clearer for Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship race thanks to Baylor beating Kansas State. Yes, the Bears winning and knocking the Wildcats out of an outright chance at fourth place gave the Sooners control of their destiny.
That’s down a wild rabbit hole of Big 12 tiebreakers. Oklahoma now controls its destiny and Sooners Wire’s model gives them the best chances to win the conference heading into the final two games.
There are three games with major impact for the Big 12 Championship race outside of the Sooners on Saturday:
Oklahoma State at TCU
Texas at Kansas State
West Virginia at Iowa State
If any upsets occur, things could change in a different direction in terms of who Oklahoma plays. The Sooners are currently slated to play Iowa State in almost every scenario left, but there is a way Oklahoma State can get in if all three teams win out.
And of course, if Oklahoma loses, it would need the Cowboys to lose to TCU or Baylor on the road to still make the Big 12 Championship game. Yes, the Sooners can lose to West Virginia and still make the Big 12 Championship game.
