While it feels like the 2019-20 NBA season just ended (because it basically just did!), we’re now just over three weeks away from the start of 2020-21 season.
Now we know what the Christmas Day schedule is going to look like, thanks to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who broke the news on Tuesday afternoon.
And you know what? It’s pretty perfect.
I’ll get to the matchups in a few seconds but first it’s interesting to see that Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks will face LeBron James and the defending-champion Lakers in the primetime game at 8 p.m. ET. Doncic is obviously becoming a huge star, I just thought the NBA would go Lakers-Clippers there.
But I’m glad they didn’t!
Here’s the schedule:

Zion and the Pelicans against the Heat is a fun way to start the day.
The Warriors will probably lose in Milwaukee but it will be great to see Steph Curry back out there.
Nets-Celtics would be more fun if fans were allowed in the Garden to watch Kyrie Irving’s return to Boston.
Luka and LeBron is the right primetime call.
Then the Clippers try to put another failed playoff run behind them when they travel to Denver in the nightcap, which should be a good one, too.
Good job, NBA.
Again.
