2001 was the last time Tennessee and Florida played in December.
The game, which was postponed due to the Sept. 11 tragedy, was played on Dec. 1 with the Southeastern Conference East division title hanging in the balance.
In 2001, UT nabbed a dramatic 34-32 victory at The Swamp.
Tennessee and Florida played four other times in December prior to the 2001 contest.
The Gators defeated Tennessee, 14-13, in the 1969 Gator Bowl. The Vols were victorious over Florida in 1928, 1930 and 1932 during the month of December.
