LaVar Ball guarantees LaMelo will win Rookie of the Year with Hornets

Despite recently being wrong about LaMelo going No. 1 overall, LaVar Ball isn’t slowing down on his wild predictions for his youngest son.

Even though LaVar Ball was wrong about LaMelo being the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, that won’t stop him from making more outlandish claims about his youngest son’s future. While helping out the public on the even of Thanksgiving along with his sons, LaVar was stopped by TMZ and asked a handful of questions, including what LaMelo’s chances were at winning Rookie of the Year.

His answer should not be shocking.

“Rookie of the Year? Guaranteed. Teaming up with Michael Jordan and you can’t get Rookie of the Year? Are you crazy?

Depending on what LaMelo’s role with the Hornets at the start of the year will be, he could have a very good argument and may even be the favorite for Rookie of the Year. Unlike fellow top picks Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman, Ball will be the primary offensive creator for Charlotte.

While there are other guards on the Hornets’ roster, none are quite like Ball which will make him especially valuable to the team next season. If he can take a big role in the offense and average decent numbers offensively, he would have a strong case for the Rookie of the Year.[lawrence-related id=27244,27231,27216]
