In addition to activating various players from their practice squad Saturday, Jacksonville Jaguars LB/DE Reggie Gilbert was activated off the Exempt/Commissioner Permission list. That will now make him eligible to play in Week 12’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

The Jags signed Gilbert earlier this week on Nov. 24 off the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad. However, with the league’s COVID-19 protocol in effect, he had to wait to be cleared to join the active roster.
Gilbert entered the league in 2016 as an undrafted player with the Green Bay Packers. However, he didn’t register any stats until his second season in (2017) where he participated in two games, garnering two tackles and a sack. He would spend one more season with the Packers afterward, then one with the Tennessee Titans in 2019. While in Tennessee, he participated in 11 games and started in five. He finished his time there with 22 total tackles last season and a sack.
Gilbert’s addition comes after the Jags had to place defensive end, Josh Allen, on injured reserve this week. He sustained a knee injury last Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, however, he dodged a major injury and had no ligament damage, according to Jags coach Doug Marrone.
