Texas Football: 5 Potential Tom Herman replacements

A list of five potential candidates to replace Tom Herman as the next head coach. Herman has yet to be terminated by the University of Texas

It doesn’t feel like a matter of if Tom Herman is relieved of his duties at this point, just a matter of when.

There were two things that the head coach had to accomplish this year.

  1. Don’t lose Quinn Ewers
  2. Get to the Big 12 Championship

In grand fashion, Herman accomplished neither of those two goals. By losing 23-20 to Iowa State on Friday, the Longhorns were eliminated from Big 12 Championship contention for all intents and purposes. They could still make it but Oklahoma State would need to lose a game and Oklahoma Sooners would need to lose both.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding the relationship between Tom Herman and athletic director Chris Del Conte. Some point to the fact that he hadn’t tweeted anything in regards to the football team. To which Herman felt the need to give himself the vote of confidence.

With one foot out the door, we are looking at potential head coaching replacements.
