Tyler Johnson re-signs with Nets

The Brooklyn Nets won’t have any shortage of offense coming off the bench, having adding Landry Shamet and now re-signing Tyler Johnson.

After a strong showing in the Disney bubble with the Nets, Tyler Johnson and Brooklyn have decided to continue their working relationship. The franchise announced on Friday that Johnson has re-signed with the team.

Johnson joined the Nets ahead of the NBA’s restart of the 2019-20 season after not having played in a game since February 2.

Throughout Brooklyn’s eight seeding games, Johnson averaged 12 points per game on 40.5% shooting (38.9% from deep) while playing 24.2 minutes a night.

In the Nets’ abbreviated 2020 NBA Playoffs run, Johnson saw his numbers improve a bit, averaging 13.8 points per game on 45.7% shooting (39.3% from 3-point territory) despite playing a little less nightly (23.2 minutes per game).

The Nets did not announce the terms of their deal with Johnson, which is standard.

However, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic is reporting Johnson signed for the guaranteed minimum.

On top of Johnson, the Nets have added Landry Shamet and Bruce Brown this offseason to join Brooklyn’s group of guards that’s led by Kyrie Irving, Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie and Joe Harris.
