The Boston Celtics introduced their two new rookie prospects, fresh off of being selected by the team in the 2020 NBA draft on Tuesday afternoon, holding a virtual press conference for the duo as they met the media as Celtics for the first time.
The pair — small forward Aaron Nesmith, formerly of Vanderbilt University and point guard Payton Pritchard, previously with the Oregon Ducks — answered questions about their arrival in Boston and impressions of the city as well as their fit on the team, health, and other important issues.
They also had jokes, such as when Pritchard threw a jab at new teammate Grant Williams regarding the Celtic forward’s claims of board game dominance.
Be sure to check out the full press conference in its entirety embedded above.
There’s lots of great answers coming from these two, who already appear to have the sort of poise you expect from seasoned players in the league.
Given how much run the roster construction may end up requiring of them, let’s hope they are equally poised on an NBA court as well.
