Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler has been named the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week after his stellar outing in the Sooners’ big win over Oklahoma State.
Rattler was already named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and Big 12 Newcomer of the Week earlier this week after going 17/24 passing for 301 yards and four touchdowns in Bedlam. He was also turnover-free on the evening, which has been a key element to his improved play in recent weeks.
On top of all of that, he also ran for a touchdown making him just the fourth Oklahoma player in the last 20 years to pass for four touchdowns and run for another in the same game.
Among freshman quarterbacks that have played at least three games this season, Rattler leads the country in passing touchdowns, passing yards per game and total offense per game.
