The Los Angeles Lakers still are not done as they look to bolster their team ahead of next season’s title defense, which is now set to start in less than a month on Dec. 22. They made some big moves over the past week, improving their backcourt and adding former All-Star and 2013 Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol to their team, in addition to reigning 6th Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell, 6MOY finalist Dennis Schröder, and veteran guard Wesley Matthews, while the Lakers also signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to a new 3-year deal. However, there is still a Lakers free agent they are hoping to retain: Markieff Morris.
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, Morris has interest from both of the L.A. teams. Morris’ twin brother Marcus signed a 4-year deal with the Clippers, which could make them a potential destination for Markieff.

The Lakers can offer a return to a team where he won a championship and a chance to repeat. The Clippers would give Morris the opportunity to play again with his brother, whom he played with together for one season on the 2014-15 Phoenix Suns.
