B/R says Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is the best running back in the NFL

Vikings fans have seen it this season, and now the whole league has caught on. As it stands, Dalvin Cook is the best running back in the NFL.

Minnesota has recovered from a bad start, and the team has Dalvin Cook to thank for that.

Cook has tallied 954 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns in eight games this season. He also has 189 receiving yards and a touchdown off a screen pass.

Bleacher Report thinks it’s time to crown Cook, at least for now. The outlet said that Cook has emerged as the league’s best running back.

“It’s undoubtedly Cook’s turn. The Minnesota Vikings back has accumulated a comical 590 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns in his last three games to almost singlehandedly keep Minnesota alive in the playoff race. Cook is on pace to score 23 touchdowns, and his yards-per-game average of 119.3 is more than 14 yards clear of the second-place Henry.”

Though Bleacher Report gave Cook high praise, the outlet did mention that Cook has seized the “likely temporary crown.” Cook plays in an era where the best running back typically changes season over season.

Christian McCaffrey, for instance, was arguably the top running back last season, but has missed too much time due to injury to take the crown from Cook in 2020.

We’ll have to see what the story is at the end of the year. Can Cook hang onto the crown, or will a contender take the claim as the NFL’s best running back?
