Getting traded is never easy. Even if a player was only on a team for one season, that means he has to get up and move somewhere again.

For Josh Richardson, he will be changing teams for the second consecutive season after the Philadelphia 76ers sent him to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday in exchange for Seth Curry. It was not like Richardson was a bad player during his time in Philadelphia, but he was just a bad fit and the Sixers needed some more shooting.

Richardson’s initial thoughts after the trade came as a bit of a shock. It did not appear that he believed he would be moved and that is tough for him on his part. On Thursday, he tweeted out a thank you to the organization and the fans.

Richardson averaged 13.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while shooting 34.1% from deep in his one season in Philadelphia. The Mavericks could be a much better fit for him moving forward as he will not be asked to do as much as he was asked with the Sixers. [lawrence-related id=39317,39314,39307]
