The Philadelphia 76ers will be requesting waivers on two-way player Marial Shayok.
After being drafted by the Sixers with the 54th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Shayok — a 25-year-old Canadian shooting guard — spent last season with the Delaware Blue Coats. In 35 contents with the Blue Coats, he averaged an impressive 25 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest. He made four appearances for the Sixers during the regular season, averaging seven minutes per contest.
News of Shayok’s release was first reported by The Philly Voice’s Kyle Neubeck.
The transaction follows a rather eventful couple of weeks for the Sixers. From Doc Rivers to Daryl Morey and Danny Green and Seth Curry, the club is likely to continue to reinvent itself follow the rather disappointing end to last season.
