The Auburn Wire’s staff predictions for Tigers vs. Tennessee

The staff at The Auburn Wire make their predictions for the matchup between the Tigers and Tennessee on Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

It feels like three months have went by since we last saw Auburn on the football field.

While it has only been 20 days, it will be nice to see the Tigers in action once again on Saturday as they host Tennessee in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Gus Malzahn’s team is favored by 10.5 points and should be able to pull off the victory.

Here is how the staff here at The Auburn Wire sees the game going down.

Shea Brennaman

Tennessee is on an abysmal four-game losing streak as they enter Jordan-Hare this weekend. Go ahead and make that five. The Tigers proved they have plenty of offensive firepower against LSU and will continue to capitalize off of that win come Saturday. Tennessee is giving up a lot of yardage and they don’t have the tools to stop impact players like Seth Williams and Tank Bigsby. I think Gus Malzahn pulls out all the stops here in honor of his 100th game.

Prediction: Auburn 42, Tennessee 21.

Brian Stultz

I have picked Auburn to lose its last two games and, fortunately, I was wrong. That makes me wonder if I should keep on picking against the Tigers, but I just can’t do that this week. Tank Bigsby and company are going to shove it down Tennessee’s throats as Malzahn gets revenge for his second-worst loss as an Auburn coach.

Prediction: Auburn 41, Tennessee 24
