Sixers do have interest in trading for Chris Paul, but no traction on a deal

There is no traction on a Chris Paul trade for the Philadelphia 76ers at this moment in time.

The Philadelphia 76ers have a lot of work to do in order to improve their roster. They have a few bad contracts on the team that are also bd fits and they need somebody to take those players off their books so they can move forward.

There has been one trade idea that was thrown out there where the Sixers would acquire Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Philadelphia would want to move off of Al Horford’s contract and bring in a guy like Paul who would make an immediate impact on this team.

However, one should not expect a Paul to Philadelphia scenario happening. The Thunder and the Phoenix Suns have been in deep talks on a Paul deal and according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst on his podcast, The Hoop Collective, there is no traction between the Sixers and the Thunder.

Windhorst:

Philadelphia has interest. I believe there’s been some cursory conversation between Philadelphia and Oklahoma City, but I don’t get the impression there’s any traction there.

This should be somewhat expected as the Sixers do not have what the Thunder want as Oklahoma City begins a bit of a rebuild, but do not expect Daryl Morey to just quit now. He is an innovative guy who will find his way into the trade market to improve the Sixers roster one way or the other. [lawrence-related id=39047,39048,39044]
