Another week, another Player of the Week award for a Jets opponent.
This time it was Patriots kicker Nick Folk, who was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Folk made all three of his field goal attempts on Monday in New England’s 30-27 win over New York. The ex-Jet most notably nailed a 51-yarder as time expired to win the game.
Folk also made all three of his extra-point attempts.

Only nine weeks in, Folk is the sixth Jets opponent to win a Player of the Week award this season. The others include Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Jerry Hughes, Xavier Rhodes and Brandon McManus.
If New York was actually winning games on a consistent basis, this wouldn’t be that big of a deal. But the Jets are 0-9, and their opponents regularly being recognized at their expense only adds to the laughter.
The Jets have only been competitive in three of their losses, and that’s being generous. They had chances to win against the Bills — in their most recent matchup — Broncos and Patriots. In the other six losses, the Jets have been smoked with a point differential of -127. Overall, the Jets’ point differential stands at -147.
Fortunately for Gang Green, they’re on their bye this week, so no one can win Player of the Week against them. But when the Jets go face the Chargers in Week 11, look out for another award.
