The LSU Tigers are coming off a much needed bye week heading into Saturday’s match-up against the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

Before the bye week, LSU traveled to Auburn and got dismantled 48-11.

With the uncertainty of Myles Brennan being available, LSU will need everyone to step up and play their best football when the Tide comes to Baton Rouge in six days.

In the SEC this past weekend, there were only four conference games.

LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Missouri all had a bye week.

Florida defeated Georgia 44-28, Mississippi State took down Vanderbilt 24-17, Texas A&M defeated South Carolina 48-3 and Arkansas beat Tennessee 24-13.

Heading into week 11 of the college football season, Alabama continues to lead the SEC West, but the East division has a new top team in that division.

Here is a look at the updated SEC standings following Saturday’s games.

West

  1. Alabama (6-0)
  2. Texas A&M (5-1)
  3. Auburn (4-2)
  4. Arkansas (3-3)
  5. LSU (2-3)
  6. Ole Miss (2-4)
  7. Mississippi State (2-4)

The SEC West division is Alabama’s to lose. They have already defeated Texas A&M, but still have to play LSU and Auburn.

The Tigers can shake up the race with a statement win on Saturday, although the team will be a heavy underdog entering the game.

East

  1. Florida (4-1)
  2. Georgia (4-2)
  3. Missouri (2-3)
  4. Kentucky (2-4)
  5. Tennessee (2-4)
  6. South Carolina (2-4)
  7. Vanderbilt (0-5)

Florida looks to reign supreme in the SEC East this year. The Gators only have one tough game left: Dec. 12th against LSU.

That game could push Florida’s chances of making the College Football Playoff out the door if the Tigers win.
