The Green Bay Packers activated rookie QB Jordan Love from the reserve/COVID-19 list and protected three practice squad players on Tuesday.
Love was deemed a high-risk exposure contact of rookie linebacker Krys Barnes, who tested positive on Friday. Like Barnes, the rookie quarterback has been on the reserve list since Friday.
Barnes and running back A.J. Dillon are the only two Packers players on the COVID-19 list. Running back Jamaal Williams and linebacker Kamal Martin were activated to the 53-man roster on Monday.
The Packers also protected safety Henry Black and cornerbacks KeiVarae Russell and Stanford Samuels on the practice squad for this week.
Each team can protect up to four players each week. Those players can’t be signed by another team that week. Teams can also promote two players from the practice squad to the gameday roster each week, and more is possible if a team has players on the COVID-19 list. Black, Russell and Samuels could all play on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Also from the transaction wire: the Baltimore Ravens signed former Packers cornerback Tramon Williams, and the Houston Texans signed former Packers linebacker Curtis Bolton to the practice squad.
