Cam Newton drew the attention of one of sports’ biggest superstars.
After the New England Patriots pulled off a game-winning drive against the New York Jets on Monday in Week 9, LeBron James tweeted at Newton to congratulate the quarterback for a 30-27 win.
“Helluva game @CameronNewton!!!! Big time all night long! Game winning drive to add on to it,” LeBron tweeted.
Newton and the Patriots got points on all four of the team’s drives in the second half, with the team going on a 20-7 run. And Newton engineered a game-winning drive with just 47 seconds left in the game. He put the Patriots in a place where kicker Nick Folk could hit the field goal.

Newton completed 27 of his 35 passes for 274 yards, zero passing touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 99 quarterback rating. He added two rushing touchdowns.
