Cardinals release CB De’Vante Bausby but he might be injured

Things might have gotten a little complicated with the cornerback.

The Arizona Cardinals announced a roster move Monday that might seem a little surprising. They released cornerback De’Vante Bausby, signed only 10 days ago.

Bausby played 16 defensive snaps and four on special teams on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins and had one tackle.

A Monday cut is often to see if they can get them on the practice squad, especially with the presumed return of Byron Murphy and hopefully Dre Kirkpatrick. It could also signal a potential promotion of veteran cornerback Prince Amukamara.

However, there might be a hiccup in the transaction.

According to SI.com’s Howard Balzer, Bausby informed the team after his release he has a sore shoulder. He did not mention it during the game or early Monday before his release.

This could complicate things. He had an MRI late Monday afternoon.

Teams generally are not able to waive players in-season with injuries.
