After the play, the cart immediately came out for Allen, who was laying on the ground in some apparent pain.
Alex Smith, who also has suffered a devastating leg injury himself, started warming up on the sideline and will come into the game.
Allen was sacked on the play after attempting to scramble and seemingly running right into the tackle that whipped his leg.
His leg appeared to turn sideways during the fall, and an aircast was placed on it as he had to be lifted onto the cart.
