The play-by-play may read that receiver Brandin Cooks caught a 57-yard touchdown pass from Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, but that is not an accurate representation of the Texans’ first score of the game.
Watson dropped back and dumped off to Cooks on a crossing route underneath for about five yards. Cooks then took the reception and raced to the corner and caught a break. He went untouched another 50 yards to the end zone to help Houston even the score 7-7 with 13:44 to go in the first quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Good thing the Texans didn’t pull any triggers to trade Cooks at the trade deadline.
