The New England Patriots have traded for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Isaiah Ford, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This season, Ford has 18 catches for 184 yards. While it’s underwhelming for league-wide standards, he now ranks fifth in receptions and third in receiving yards among Patriots receivers. At 6-foot-2 and 201 pounds, Ford is a seventh round pick out of Virginia Tech in 2017. He has 41 receptions for 428 yards over 16 career games.
New England is thin at the receiver position after Julian Edelman went on injured reserve with a knee injury and N’Keal Harry missed Week 8 with a concussion. That has left the team with receivers Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski. The Patriots have also elevated Isaiah Zuber from the practice squad for multiple games.
A rare intra-division trade: Dolphins are trading WR Isaiah Ford to the New England Patriots, per source.

With quarterback Cam Newton at the helm, the Patriots passing offense is one of the NFL’s worst with 192 passing yards per game, third fewest in the NFL, and three passing touchdowns, the fewest in the NFL.
