The Dallas Cowboys (2-6) have limped through the first half of the season, playing their last three games without QB Dak Prescott, who’s out for the year due to an ankle injury. They’re not out of the NFC East race yet, but at 2-6, their chances are slimming by the week.
Below, we analyze the midseason Cowboys 2020 Super Bowl odds, odds of winning their division, as well as NFL futures and opine on whether they’re worth a Super Bowl futures bet at this time.

Things have gone south in a hurry for the Cowboys, and not just due to Prescott’s devastating injury. The defense ranks last with 33.3 points allowed per game and hasn’t been able to stop anyone all season. RB Ezekiel Elliott has a fumbling problem, and the offensive line is a mess. As a result of everything that has transpired, the Cowboys’ Super Bowl odds have plummeted from +1800 in August to +20000. Only eight teams in the NFL have worse odds than the Cowboys.
Dallas still ranks first in passing attempts (352) and passing yards (2,345) despite being without Prescott since Week 5. The Cowboys have turned the ball over a league-high 18 times, though, and are 25th in yards per carry.

Cowboys division betting odds
- Philadelphia Eagles -278
- Washington Football Team +400
- Dallas Cowboys +800
- New York Giants +2200
There is no division worse than the NFC East right now, with the first-place Eagles owning a terrible 3-4-1 record. The Cowboys aren’t out of the picture yet, sitting just a couple of games behind Philadelphia, but it’s hard to feel good about Dallas without Prescott and with a terrible defense. The Cowboys have three divisional matchups left this season, one against each team.
Cowboys futures picks and predictions
It would take a miraculous turnaround by the Cowboys to make them worth a bet to win the Super Bowl, and there’s no sign of life from this team. They’ve scored 22 total points in three games without Prescott, gaining 407 yards combined in their last two games.
NO, the Cowboys are not worth a bet to win the Super Bowl. They probably won’t win more than three games the rest of the way, so you’d have to be crazy to put money on them to win a championship this year. A spot in the top five of the 2021 NFL Draft is more likely.
