The best part of each NFL team’s bye week is the possibility to get multiple players back healthy. That very well could be the case for the Jacksonville Jaguars when it comes to linebacker Myles Jack, tight end Tyler Eifert and safety Jarrod Wilson.
Per coach Doug Marrone, all three players are trending in the right direction to return to the field this Sunday against the Houston Texans.
“Myles Jack practiced limited today,” Marrone said. “I think he’ll be back; I think he’ll play. [Tyler] Eifert’s going to play, he’s fine and Jarrod [Wilson] right now is scheduled to play. All three are scheduled to play.”
All three would be welcomed additions for the Jags who need all the help they can get if they are to recover from their current record of 1-6. Jack, who is a team captain and is playing at an All-Pro level, undoubtedly would be the biggest return.
Since moving back to weak-side linebacker (thanks to Joe Schobert), Jack has been phenomenal for the Jags, providing the team with a tackling machine who is always near the ball. In his first three games he was able to garner 11 tackles. Unfortunately, his season was hindered by a Week 4 ankle injury that occured against the Cincinnati Bengals, which cause him to miss Weeks 5 (Texans) and 7 (Los Angeles Chargers) and exit Week 6’s (against the Detroit Lions) game early.
As for Wilson, he’s only played in three games due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts. After missing various weeks, he returned Week 5 against the Texans and also played Week 6 against the Lions where he reaggravate his injury.
